SINGLE STAGE CARAVAN, RV AND CAMPING FILTER UNIT
This single stage 10"x2.5" caravan water filter system includes one filter housing, a stainless steel bracket, two standard clip on garden hose connectors, and a housing opening spanner for filter changes.
This filter unit is supplied with a mounting bracket, however it does not need to be mounted for use. You can connect this unit inline on your garden hose when filling your tanks or when connected to a water supply whilst camping and / or between your tank and drinking point for final filtration before drinking.
This caravan filtration system can remove sediment (dirt, dust, rust, particles, etc), chlorine, many volatile organic compounds, pesticides, herbicides, chemicals and improves taste, odour and colouration depending on the filter selected.
To remove filterable cysts such as cryptosporidium, giardia, blastocysts, etc you must select a carbon filter with at lease a 0.5 micron rating or the ceramic 0.5uM sediment filter.
Chemical / chlorine removal: The standard coconut carbon block cartridges [CBC] will filter approximately 10,000 litres of town water before needing to be replaced. The Silver Carbon, Heavy Metals CBC and Fluoride Carbon filters will filter about 20,000 litres. The Pentek CBC-10 and Matrikx PB1 metals and chloramine filters will filter about 30,000 litres and the Pentek CBR2-10 filters are a high volume chlorine removal filter and will effectively filter approximately 75,000 litres.
It's important when using these filter system to only turn the tap on to a flow rate of less then 4 litres per minute for these systems to filter optimally.
THESE FILTERS ACHIEVE STATED EFFECTIVENESS AT FLOW RATES BELOW 4 LITRES PER MINUTE
Recommended usage life for filters without anti bacterial properties is 6 months and silver infused carbon filters is 12 months.
