HRO-3-NJ COMPACT HIGH VOLUME PORTABLE
DRINKING WATER REVERSE OSMOSIS FILTER
This is our most compact higher volume unit suited to use for purifying water [bore, creek, town mains and rainwater tank water] for drinking. This unit is designed to produce high quality drinking water from the widest range of source water however it will require water to be supplied to the unit under pressure exceeding 45psi [60psi to 80psi is optimal].
This is a three stage unit which includes the following:
* 1x Jumbo* inline activated carbon + KDF55 media filter.
* 1x Reverse osmosis membrane (Your choice of flow rate).
* 1x Jumbo* inline silver infused coconut shell carbon.
* 3 meters of high pressure 1/4" (6mm) tubing.
* Connection fittings (Your choice of inlet connectors).
*JUMBO inline filters are larger then the standard in line filters and hold almost twice as much media to handle higher volumes and less regular filter changes. A jumbo in line carbon + KDF55 media will filter about 15,000 litres of typical town mains water which is about 3x what a standard in line carbon filter will. A jumbo post filter will filter about 2.5x more then a standard in line filter.
If your source water is high in sediment you may find a system with larger pre-filters and a separate sediment pre-filter to protect the membrane will be better like the one we have listed as Reverse Osmosis RO Water Filter + Drinking Camping Caravan Filters
RO membranes are listed based on flow rate, in this case volume of water produced if left to run for 24 hours with optimal feed pressure (60-80psi). Membrane flow rate should be selected from the table above when purchasing the filter.
There are two different connection types - 'Garden/Laundry' and 'Kitchen Mixer'. The Garden/Laundry option includes a 1/2" tap adapter, 3/4" tap adapter and a fitting to connect to a female garden hose clip on fitting.
The 'Kitchen Mixer option includes a valve that connects to a standard* mixer tap in place of the aerator. You can also select to have both options in the table above.
* Standard mixer taps refer to a mixer tap where you can unscrew the aerator on the end of the tap and will be left with either a 20mm female thread or a 23mm male thread. If you have the 20mm female thread you`ll need to use the inside to outside thread converter [in the 3rd picture and supplied with this item] to connect but if you have a 23mm male thread after removing the aerator you won`t need to use the thread converter.
This filter produces the purest possible water and the total dissolved solids count drops but approximately 95% by using this system.
