These filters are recommended for filtering potable town mains water and are commonly used as replacement cartridges for systems per images 8-11.
The best filter combination for filtering rainwater tank water is the silver infused carbon block filter.
5uMÂ carbon filters remove / reduce chlorine, odour, taste, volatile organic compounds, and a wide range of chemicals, pesticides and other impurities in water
0.5uM nominal and 1uM absolute carbon block filters remove above impurities as well as micro-organisms [giardia, cryptosporidium and blastocysts]
Water filters that remove heavy metals and reduce fluoride* will filter all the items stated above as well as remove heavy metals and reduce fluoride* if present in your drinking water
*Reduces fluoride by an average of approximately 50%-60% over the useful life of the filter given a flow rate of below 1 litre per minute -Â for higher fluoride removal of between 97%-99% rather consider a reverse osmosis water filter
