Spun filter are disposable sediment particle filters, pleated filters are washable reusable sediment filters, carbon block filters reduce / remove chlorine, volatile organic compounds, a range of impurities in water and improve taste and odour and silver infused carbon filters have anti-bacterial properties.
Spun sediment filters are poly-spun filters which remove sediment particles like dust, dirt, clay, leaves, debris and suspended solids and our carbon block filters are made from activated coconut carbon and will reduce or remove chlorine, odour, some colouration, taste, pesticides, herbicides, volatile organic compounds and a wide range of impurities in water but only a filter combination with a 1 micron absolute or 0.5 micron nominal carbon block as the final filter will remove cysts and micro-organisms like giardia, cryptosporidium and blastocysts whereas the nano silver carbon block will remove all of these as well as 99.99% of bacteria that may be present in your water
Housings have 3/4"BSP inlet + outlet ports and these slim big blue housings have a pressure release valve
Given average water this filter combination should last 50,000 litres which could vary fairly significantly if you choose filter too fine for your source water so please feel free to ask us any questions before buying a particular filter combination to make sure what you buy is suited to your local water. Due to possible bacteria colonisation all filter should be changed 6-monthly unless they have anti-bacterial properties i.e. silver infused then they can be changed every 12-months.
