These filters, except the ceramic and silver infused carbon filter set*, are recommended for filtering potable town mains water and are commonly used as replacement cartridges for systems per images 8-11.

The best filter combination for filtering rainwater tank water is a a silver infused carbon block filter as the 2nd filter.

5uM carbon filters remove / reduce chlorine, odour, taste, volatile organic compounds, and a wide range of chemicals, pesticides and other impurities in water

0.5uM nominal and 1uM absolute carbon block filters remove above impurities as well as parasitic micro-organisms like giardia, cryptosporidium and blastocysts and *0.5uM silver infused carbon filters will remove the above and also have anti bacterial properties

NB: Ceramic filters are supplied as 0.5 micron nominal or 0.7uM absolute which both preform the same function.

*Heavy metals and fluoride water filters will filter all the items stated above as well as reduce heavy metals or fluoride if present in your drinking water
