Genuine Lan Shan S2 series 10-inch quick-change (twist-in) replacement cartridges for the compact Lan Shan reverse osmosis systems that keep their filters inside a cover or cabinet. Choose a single cartridge or a pack from the drop-down menu.

All of these are five-stage systems fitted with the same five S2 cartridges: S2-05, S2-33, S2-CTO, S2-RO50 and S2-34. Lan Shan also lists the S2 range as fitting the 307 and 333 series purifiers; check the cartridge code on your existing filters first.

Sold in Australia under other names

These compact Lan Shan units are imported and rebadged by several Australian suppliers, so your system may not say Lan Shan on the front. Systems that use this cartridge family include:

• Micron Water Filters MQ RO series (RO-801A, MWF-ROC-801A, MWF-ROC-302, RO-MQ3, RO-MQ4, RO-MQ5), sold through plumbing suppliers. Micron's MT-05, MT-33, MT-CTO, MT-RO50 and MT-34 cartridges carry the same model numbers and dimensions as the S2 range.
• Glamorca RO1 (Maxspect) aquarium reverse osmosis unit, which uses the sediment, GAC, carbon block and membrane cartridges with a DI post filter in place of the S2-34.
• Lan Shan branded units sold by other Australian water filter retailers.

If your cartridge label carries the same number after the prefix (05, 33, CTO, RO50, 34) and the same twist-in base, it is the same cartridge. Send us a photo if you are not sure.

Check before ordering: S2, not ST, S2S or S3

Lan Shan makes the same filter media in several bodies, and only the S2 fits these systems. Look at the code printed on your current cartridge and its length:

• S2- 10-inch twist-in cartridge, about 296 mm long: this listing
• S2S- short 7-inch twist-in cartridge, about 235 mm long, used in the LSRO-301A and 301B: see our Lan Shan S2S replacement filters
• ST- 10-inch cartridge with a different fitting, used in the EQ1 to EQ4 hang-type purifiers and the EQ5AN systems sold by some Australian retailers: not interchangeable with S2
• SB-, SBS-, S3- and S3S-: different bodies, not interchangeable with S2

Intervals are a guide for typical town water. Poor source water, a large household or a TDS reading that climbs above about 40 ppm will shorten them. Systems with the IC-109 or IC-129 micro-computer controller will remind you when each stage is due.

• Pre-Filter Pack: S2-05 + S2-33 + S2-CTO. The six-monthly change.
• Annual Pack: S2-05 + S2-33 + S2-CTO + S2-34. Everything except the membrane.
• Complete 5-Stage Pack: all four filters plus the S2-RO50 membrane. The full rebuild.

• Size: 10-inch S2 series, approx. 296 mm long x 62.5 mm diameter (cartridge only, excluding the twist-in head)
• Flow rate: 1 GPM (approx. 3.8 LPM) per cartridge
• Operating temperature: 4 to 42°C
• Operating pressure: 30 to 80 psi (membrane: minimum 60 psi; systems without a booster pump need adequate mains pressure)
• Membrane: TFC, 50 GPD nominal at 60 psi. The 801, 802, 302 and EQ5A were also supplied with 75 and 100 GPD membranes; if your system was ordered with a larger membrane, contact us before ordering.

Changing a cartridge

1. Close the feed water valve and open the faucet to release pressure.
2. Twist the old cartridge a quarter turn and pull it out of the head.
3. Remove the cap from the new cartridge, push it into the head and twist until it locks.
4. Open the feed water and flush: 2 to 3 minutes for the pre-filters and post carbon. After fitting a new membrane, drain the first full tank to waste before drinking.

No tools are needed. On systems with a micro-computer controller, reset the filter timer for that stage after the change (see your system manual).

Water filters are for drinking water applications only. Do not use where the water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. This listing supplies replacement cartridges only; the reverse osmosis system is not included.
