The number i.e. 150, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800, 1,000 or 1,600 is the flow rate in cc [ml] per minute at 60psi based on average water pressure
All the waste flow restriction devices in this listing have 1/4” quick fit connectors i.e. you just push the 1/4” / 6mm tube into the port except for the FR1000 which has screw in compression fittings to fit 1/4" tube. If requested we can supply the FR1600 with 3/8" quick fit connectors instead of 1/4" ones but the onus is on you to message us when checking out asking for this change.
Standard RO system part and used on a reverse osmosis waste line to increase pressure on and flow through the membrane

According to regulatory standards any water filter system under constant water pressure [regardless of the brand or supplier] is required to be fitted with an AS3497 approved pressure reducing valve and back-flow prevention device which we have listed separately in our store. We also recommend that a leak detector shut off device is installed with any water filter and / or reverse osmosis system which is under pressure and is also for sale in our store
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase please contact us so that we can try to resolve your concerns.
Why Choose an RO Water Filter Waste Flow Restrictor?
A Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filter Waste Flow Restrictor is a critical component of any RO system. Its purpose is to create back pressure on the RO membrane, which is necessary to force the water through the membrane and separate the pure water from the concentrated waste stream. This device ensures that the RO system operates at an optimal pressure, maximizing the efficiency and purity of the filtered water while minimizing waste.
Compact Design and Powerful Performance
This flow restrictor is available with various flow rates, from 150cc to 1600cc per minute, at a standard pressure of 60psi. You can select the specific flow rate from the drop-down menu to match your RO system's membrane size. All flow restrictors in this listing (except the FR1000) have 1/4" quick-fit push-in connectors for easy installation with 6mm tubing. The FR1600 can be supplied with 3/8" quick-fit connectors upon request.
Seamless Integration and Easy Maintenance
This flow restrictor is a standard part of an RO system and is designed to be easily installed in the waste line. It is a simple yet essential component that helps maintain the correct pressure balance within the system. The product description also reminds users to comply with Australian regulatory standards by installing a pressure reducing valve and a back-flow prevention device for any system under constant pressure. It also recommends a leak detector shut-off device for added safety.
