Product Overview

Our Silver Infused Coconut Carbon Block Filters provide advanced water purification by combining the natural filtration performance of high quality activated coconut shell carbon with the antibacterial properties of silver. These premium cartridges are designed to improve water quality, taste, and odour while offering protection against bacteria and, if the 0.5uM version is selected, also against microorganisms.

Suitable for both treated mains water and rainwater tank systems, these filters are ideal replacements for standard-sized filter housings and are manufactured to meet local and international water filtration standards. When used with untreated tank water, a silver-infused carbon block can provide an additional level of protection when installed before an ultraviolet (UV) steriliser. However, it should be used with an appropriately rated sediment pre-filter to remove fine particles and help protect the more expensive carbon block from premature blockage. For untreated tank water, we do not recommend relying solely on a silver-infused carbon filter for protection against microbiological contamination. If you would like the additional protection of a UV steriliser, contact us and we can assist you in selecting the correct UV system based on the maximum expected water flow rate.

Filtration Performance

• 0.5 Micron Silver Carbon Block: Removes or reduces bacteria, chlorine, taste, odour, chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and parasitic microorganisms such as Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Blastocysts.

• 5 Micron Silver Carbon Block: Removes or reduces bacteria, chlorine, taste, odour, and a broad range of organic and chemical contaminants.

The inclusion of silver in the carbon media helps inhibit bacterial growth within the filter itself, maintaining cleaner filtration and extending service life — a key advantage when treating rainwater or tank water.

Recommended Applications

• Rainwater / Tank Water: For best results, use after a 1µm or 5µm sediment pre-filter.

• Mains / Town Water: Excellent for improving taste and odour, while providing antibacterial protection.

• Recommended Replacement: Every 6 months, or sooner depending on water quality and usage.
